To find your microwave’s wattage, look at the front panel, the side of the door, in the back, in the user manual, or Google the model number. If both an input and output wattage are listed, use the output.

Wattage translates to how powerful the microwave is. The higher the wattage, the faster your food will cook. The lower the wattage, the longer the cook time.

When in doubt, start with less time — you can always add more.

Dish

The Medium Shallow Dish

Ingredients

  • 4 cups (320g) shell-on edamame, frozen
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • salt, to taste

Preparation

  1. Combine frozen edamame and sesame oil in the Anyday. Cover with lid (knob lifted) and shake the dish to evenly coat the pods.
  2. Cook in the microwave for 4 minutes, or until edamame is steaming and hot.
  3. Season with soy sauce and salt to taste.

Serving suggestions & tips

  • Sprinkle furikake or toasted sesame seeds over edamame for added flavor.
  • Drizzle some chili oil or chili crisp for a bit of heat.
  • Try substituting the soy for balsamic and sprinkling some parmesan cheese.

Recipe notes

  • This recipe works great with shelled edamame and also with snap peas or green beans.
  • Microwave ovens vary, even with the same wattages. Adjust cooking times as needed.
