Soft and Hard-Boiled Eggs
Enjoy a perfectly cooked egg faster than it takes water to boil. Pro tip: Adding vinegar to the water breaks down the shell a bit, helping the eggs cook more evenly and peel more cleanly. Play around with your cooking time depending on how well-done you like your eggs. (Note: This might take a bit of trial and error because every microwave is different!)
All of Anyday’s recipes are tested (and retested!) in many different microwaves and home kitchens to make sure they work — and work well.

Ingredients
- 2 ½ cups (590ml) water
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons white vinegar
Preparation
- Place the eggs into the Anyday Medium Deep Dish then fill with the indicated amount of cold tap water and the vinegar. Cover with the lid (knob lifted).
- Cook for 4-5 minutes for soft-boiled eggs or 5:30-6 minutes for hard-boiled eggs. Important: Make sure that the eggs are FULLY submerged in water before starting to cook — when microwaves come in direct contact with whole eggs, it can cause the egg to explode.
- Immediately remove eggs from water using a slotted spoon and gently lower into an ice bath to cool.
- Dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture. Crack the top with a spoon or peel the eggs. Season with some salt and enjoy!
Serving suggestions & tips
- You can use a different Anyday Deep Dish size than what we recommend, but make sure that the eggs are fully submerged in water. You may need to increase cook times if there’s more water in the dish than this recipe calls for.
- Note: This recipe may require a bit of trial and error since every microwave is different! The number of eggs and size of eggs will change the cook time. Make sure you adjust cook time depending on your microwave wattage!
- Serve with toasted bread soldiers.
- Add some hot sauce to taste.
- Sprinkle fresh chopped herbs for an elegant touch.
- Microwave ovens vary, even with the same wattages. Adjust cooking times as needed.
