Wattage translates to how powerful the microwave is. The higher the wattage, the faster your food will cook. The lower the wattage, the longer the cook time.

The Medium Shallow Dish

Ingredients

  • ¼ small yellow onion (30g), finely chopped
  • ¼ (30g) medium bell pepper (any color), finely chopped
  • oz (225g) lean ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt 
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons tomato purée
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • teaspoons cornstarch
  • 2 burger buns

Preparation

  1. Add onion, bell pepper, ground beef, and oil to the Anyday dish and stir to combine. Cover with the lid (knob lifted).
  2. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until meat is cooked through and vegetables have softened.
  3. Add the garlic powder, salt, pepper, ketchup, tomato purée, Worcestershire sauce, and the cornstarch and stir well, making sure to break up the ground beef into small pieces.
  4. Cover and continue cooking in the microwave for 4-5 minutes, stirring halfway through.
  5. Serve in burger buns and enjoy.

  • Add taco seasoning for a quick taco salad topping.
