To find your microwave’s wattage, look at the front panel, the side of the door, in the back, in the user manual, or Google the model number. If both an input and output wattage are listed, use the output.

Wattage translates to how powerful the microwave is. The higher the wattage, the faster your food will cook. The lower the wattage, the longer the cook time.

When in doubt, start with less time — you can always add more.

Serving suggestions & tips

  • Renewal Milk Dark Chocolate Brownie Mix: Substitute coffee, milk, or a plant-based alternative for the liquid when using this mix.
  • Double chocolate walnut: Add chocolate chips and walnuts for an extra chocolatey flavor and a delightful texture contrast.
  • Candy bar brownie: Sprinkle your favorite candy, nuts, or pretzels on top for a fun and sweet twist.
  • Creamy berry brownie: Swirl melted white chocolate into the top of the brownie and add dehydrated raspberries or strawberries for a burst of flavor.
  • Mexican chocolate brownies: Incorporate cayenne or chili flakes into the mixture for a fiery kick.

Recipe notes

  • For better results, mix the batter in a separate bowl, spray the Anyday with vegetable spray, and pour the batter in it before cooking.
  • For a boxed mix, follow the instructions on the back of the box and pour the batter into the Anyday: For Large Shallow:  Cook in the microwave for 4-5 minutes.  For Medium Shallow: Split batter between two Medium Shallow Anyday dishes and cook in the microwave for 3-4 minutes.  For Small Dishes: Divide batter among four Small Dishes and cook in the microwave for 1-2 minutes each.
  • Microwave ovens vary, even with the same wattages. Adjust cooking times as needed.

All You Need to Know About Making Fudge Brownies in the Microwave

What are fudge brownies?

Fudge brownies are rich, dense, and chocolatey treats made with butter, sugar, eggs, and cocoa powder. They have a moist texture and fudgy consistency, often enhanced with chocolate chips or nuts for added flavor.

Can I make brownies in the microwave?

Yes, you can easily make brownies in the microwave using an Anyday dish. This method allows for quick preparation and cooking, resulting in delicious, fudgy brownies without the lengthy process of traditional oven baking.

Why is this recipe cooked uncovered?

Microwaving the brownie uncovered is the best way to achieve a fudgy center and a slightly crisp top at the same time. The lid is ideal for keeping brownies fresh, thanks to its silicone edges that help maintain moisture.

Can I make it in advance?

Absolutely! You can prepare the brownie batter in advance and store it in an Anyday dish in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. When you're ready to cook, simply microwave the batter as instructed.

Can I freeze fudge brownies?

What's the best way to reheat frozen brownies?

To reheat frozen brownies, place them directly in an Anyday dish and microwave at full power for 15-30 seconds, depending on the portion size. This method ensures they maintain their texture and flavor. To learn more about reheating frozen food, visit our blog: How to Reheat Frozen Food.
