To find your microwave’s wattage, look at the front panel, the side of the door, in the back, in the user manual, or Google the model number. If both an input and output wattage are listed, use the output.

Wattage translates to how powerful the microwave is. The higher the wattage, the faster your food will cook. The lower the wattage, the longer the cook time.

When in doubt, start with less time — you can always add more.

The Medium Deep Dish

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • ¼ tsp chili flakes, optional
  • 1 bunch Swiss chard or kale (between 100-150g), tough center and stem removed and cut into ribbons, rinsed
  • Lemon juice, to taste

Preparation

  1. Add the olive oil, garlic, salt, pepper, and chili flakes to the Anyday dish. Cover with the lid (knob lifted).
  2. Cook in the microwave for  1 minutes, or until the garlic is fragrant.
  3. Add greens, packing them tightly into the dish — they will shrink as they cook! Cover and cook for  3 minutes), or until the greens are tender and bright green.
  4. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the greens to taste.

Serving suggestions & tips

  • Add some lemon zest at the end for a bright flavor.
  • Sprinkle some freshly grated nutmeg on top for an aromatic twist.
  • Top with some chili crisp for a spicy kick and a slight crunch.
