To find your microwave’s wattage, look at the front panel, the side of the door, in the back, in the user manual, or Google the model number. If both an input and output wattage are listed, use the output.

Wattage translates to how powerful the microwave is. The higher the wattage, the faster your food will cook. The lower the wattage, the longer the cook time.

When in doubt, start with less time — you can always add more.

Dish

The Small Dish

Ingredients

  • ½ cup (35g) panko breadcrumbs

Preparation

  1. Place the panko crumbs in the Anyday dish and cook uncovered for 1 minute in 30-second intervals, stirring well each time. If you like your breadcrumbs darker, add more time in 15-second intervals after the first 1 minute
  2. Allow breadcrumbs to cool completely, then save for up to 30 days in an airtight container or simply place the lid on the Anyday with the knob down to ensure freshness.

Suggestions

  • Once cool, season with garlic powder and dry parsley for Italian-style breadcrumbs.
  • Toss toasted breadcrumbs with a few sunflower or pumpkin seeds for a quick soup or salad topping.
  • Mix with shredded cheese right before using and use to top mac and cheese, vegetables, or casseroles.

Recipe Notes

  • Save the breadcrumbs for up to 3 months in an air-tight container.
  • Microwave ovens vary, even with the same wattages. Adjust cooking times as needed.
