Is cooking in the microwave safe?
Yes — cooking in the microwave is absolutely safe. In fact, it’s one of the safest and most nutrient-preserving ways to cook.
Anyday dishes are made of durable borosilicate glass with a vented glass lid with a silicone gasket and stainless steel rim — all fully microwave-safe (yep, even the metal rim!). Unlike plastic containers, which can warp or leach chemicals when heated, Anyday glass dishes are completely nontoxic and safe for everyday cooking.
Microwaves themselves are also safe to use. Fun fact: your cellphone actually emits more radiation than your microwave does. And when it comes to your food, studies from Harvard and Cornell show that the microwave can help preserve more nutrients compared to many traditional cooking methods.

What's so special about the Anyday?
- Yes, Anyday is different than your average Tupperware container or Pyrex! Anyday’s patent-pending lid is safe for use in the microwave (yes, even the metal on the rim!) and designed to trap steam, keeping your food moist and evenly cooked.
- The lid has multiple safety features: It vents excess steam when lifted, releasing pressure within the dish and avoiding splatters and explosions. The lid’s silicone rim is also flexible enough to safely and gently push up if the pressure in the dish gets too high.
Is the metal on the frosted dishes safe to use in the microwave?
Yes, you can put our lids in the microwave — even with the metal rim. We made them microwave-safe by using smooth, curved stainless steel.
Is there any plastic on the Anyday dishes or lids?
- No! Anyday dishes and lids are 100% plastic-free, made from borosilicate glass, food-grade silicone, and stainless steel (yes, it’s safe to put in the microwave!).

Is Anyday 100% plastic-free?
Yes! Anyday is completely plastic-free. Our dishes are made of durable, thermal shock-resistant borosilicate glass, and our vented lids are made of glass with a platinum silicone gasket and stainless steel rim. Unlike plastic containers which can leach harmful chemicals into your food, Anyday is completely nontoxic, making it both safer for you and more sustainable for the planet.
What’s so special about Anyday?
Other food storage containers almost always come with a plastic lid — and that lid is not built for the microwave. It warps, it cracks, and it sheds microplastics when heated.
Anyday’s lid is made of glass and silicone. That difference changes everything: you can cook from scratch with the lid on, then serve, store, and reheat in the same dish — which means clean-up is incredibly easy.
The lid isn’t just a cover, either. It traps steam for fast, even cooking and the knob vents so food doesn’t splatter in your microwave. Press the knob down after and it turns into an airtight container for the fridge or freezer.
You might be wondering: can’t I just use a different lid? Well — plastic wrap has the same microplastic problem plastic containers do. And a plate on top won’t trap the moisture that makes microwave cooking work, it’s a hazard to lift on and off a hot dish, and it can’t double as a lid for storage after.
What can I use Anyday for?
We designed Anyday to be versatile so you can use it countless ways in your kitchen. Here are a few of our favorites:
- Steam: Cook veggies, grains & proteins (from scratch) in the microwave at the push of a button
- Store: Pop the lid on your Anyday dish and refrigerate or freeze

Can I put my Anyday dishes in the oven, too?
Yes! Our versatile glass dishes with vented glass lids double as clever cookware and nontoxic food storage. Not only is Anyday microwave-safe, but it’s also oven-safe (and air fryer-safe!) up to 500°F for bowls and 400°F for lids, freezer-safe, and dishwasher-safe, too. NOTE: Do not use Anyday dishes on the stovetop, grill, or under the broiler.

Is the metal on the frosted dishes really microwave-safe?
Yes! The stainless steel on our lids is 100% microwave-safe due to its smooth, curved shape. It may sound nuts, but some metal is totally safe in microwaves. It depends on how it is shaped, i.e. if the metal is rounded, it won't arc. A smooth, stainless steel bowl, for example, is fine! But don't put in metal that is super thin (e.g. aluminum foil) or has multiple sharp corners (e.g. a fork). Science doesn’t lie!
Just make sure your Anyday dish is placed at least one inch away from your microwave's wall. If the stainless steel rim of your lid gets too close, it can cause sparking.
