Select your microwave wattage in the dropdown. The cook times in this recipe will automatically change accordingly.

To find your microwave’s wattage, look at the front panel, the side of the door, in the back, in the user manual, or Google the model number. If both an input and output wattage are listed, use the output.

Wattage translates to how powerful the microwave is. The higher the wattage, the faster your food will cook. The lower the wattage, the longer the cook time.

When in doubt, start with less time — you can always add more.

Microwave oven by power - 700w

The Medium Deep Dish

  • ¼ cup (30g) yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 1 strip thick-cut bacon, cut into small pieces
  • 1 andouille sausage, sliced
  • 1/2 cup (75g) Yukon gold potatoes, cut into roughly 1” cubes
  • ½ cup (125ml) crushed tomatoes
  • ½ cup (60ml) chicken stock or clam juice
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire® sauce
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce sauce
  • ¼ cup (35g) pearl or Israeli couscous
  • 2 shrimp, peeled
  • 2 scallops, cleaned and quartered
  • 1 soft shell crab, cut into quarters or crab legs
  • Halved cherry tomatoes, for garnish (optional)
  • Chopped parsley, for garnish (optional)

  1. Add the onion, bacon, sausage, and potatoes to the Anyday and stir to combine. Cover with lid (knob lifted).
  2. Cook in the microwave for 2-3 minutes, or until the bacon is partially rendered.
  3. Add the crushed tomatoes, chicken stock, salt, garlic powder, paprika, Worcestershire, hot sauce, and pearled couscous and stir to combine. Place the seafood on top of the couscous, nestling into the sauce.
  4. Continue cooking for 5-6 minutes, or until the liquids come to a simmer and the couscous is tender but still has a bite.
  5. Allow to rest for 2-5 minutes. Serve with chopped parsley and cherry tomatoes, if desired.
