To find your microwave’s wattage, look at the front panel, the side of the door, in the back, in the user manual, or Google the model number. If both an input and output wattage are listed, use the output.

Wattage translates to how powerful the microwave is. The higher the wattage, the faster your food will cook. The lower the wattage, the longer the cook time.

When in doubt, start with less time — you can always add more.

Dish

The Medium Shallow Dish

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (100g) riced cauliflower
  • 1 4-oz (115g) piece frozen arctic char, cod, halibut, or salmon
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • Chopped scallions or cilantro, for garnish (optional)

Preparation

  1. Add riced cauliflower to an Anyday dish, spreading it into an even layer.
  2. Place the frozen fish on top of the cauliflower and drizzle with soy sauce. Cover the dish with the lid (with the knob lifted).
  3. Microwave for 6-7 minutes, or until both the fish and cauliflower are cooked and tender. (Cooking time will depend on the thickness of your fish fillets. Thinner fillets will be ready sooner while thicker ones may take a bit longer. If you're unsure, check the fish every 30 seconds after the 3-minute mark.)
  4. Carefully remove the skin from the fish and finish with a drizzle of soy sauce, chopped cilantro, or scallions—or enjoy it as is!

Suggestions

  • Top with bean sprouts or watercress for crunch and freshness.
  • Drizzle some chili crisp on top of cooked salmon and cauliflower for some heat.
  • Garnish with toasted sesame seeds for a bit of nuttiness.
  • Microwave ovens vary, even with the same wattages. Adjust cooking times as needed.
