Wattage translates to how powerful the microwave is. The higher the wattage, the faster your food will cook. The lower the wattage, the longer the cook time.

When in doubt, start with less time — you can always add more.

Dish

The Large Shallow Dish

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ½ (100g) medium onion, small dice
  • 1 (160g) medium bell pepper, small dice
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste
  • 8 eggs (600g)
  • 4 tablespoons sour cream (or mayonnaise)
  • 4 tablespoons jack cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons basil, chopped


Preparation

  1. Combine butter, onion, bell pepper, garlic, salt, and pepper in the Anyday dish. Cover with the lid (knob lifted).
  2. Cook in the microwave for 6 minutes or until the bell pepper is tender.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat eggs and sour cream (or mayo) thoroughly. Add cheese and chopped basil and mix well.
  4. Add egg, cheese, and herb mixture into the Anyday dish with the vegetables and stir briefly to combine. Cover (knob lifted) and cook at Power Level 6tooltip for 10 minutes, or until eggs are just set. Garnish with suggestions and serve.

Serving suggestions & tips

  • Garnish with arugula, fresh herbs, salsa, avocado, or crème fraîche.
  • Substitute jalapeños for bell peppers for a spicier version.
