You don’t have to be a master pastry chef to whip up a perfectly decadent chocolate ganache! With the help of the microwave, this two-ingredient sauce comes together in just under two minutes. Use this sauce to decorate cakes, and ice cream sundaes, or allow the sauce to set in an Anytime tray for a hot cocoa stick— perfect for gifting!
All of Anyday’s recipes are tested (and retested!) in many different microwave and home kitchens to make sure they work— and work well. Unless specified otherwise, all recipes should be cooked at full power.
What You’ll Need
What You’ll Need
The Medium Deep Dish
The best dish for 1-2 portions of grains, veggies, mac and cheese, ramen, and more.
The Anyhand Mitts
Handle hot Anyday dishes with care with these microwave mitts that double as trivets!
Ingredients
- 1 cup (250ml) heavy cream
- 1 cup (150g) dark chocolate chips
Preparation
- Place heavy cream and chocolate chips into an Anyday Deep Dish.
- Cover with lid (knob lifted) and cook in the microwave for 1-2 minutes.
- Whisk the sauce until fully incorporated. If the chocolate chips are not quite melted, microwave for an additional 30 seconds.
- Use immediately, or store in an air-tight container for later use.
Serving suggestions & tips
- Make Hot Cocoa Sticks: Pour prepared ganache into 2-Tablespoon Anytime Trays. Top with crushed peppermint, mini marshmallows, chili flakes, flaky sea salt, or caramel chips, if desired. Push a popsicle stick or short pastry dowel into the center and transfer to the fridge to cool for at least 2 hours. When ready to serve, add a Hot Cocoa Stick to a mug. Pour hot milk or water over the puck and stir to melt completely. Enjoy with whipped cream!
- For Hot Fudge Sauce: Combine 1 can (14oz) sweetened condensed milk, 1 cup (150g) dark chocolate chips, and 2 tablespoons cocoa powder in an Anyday deep dish and stir to combine. Microwave for 90 seconds, stirring until smooth.
Recipe notes
- Chocolate is very sensitive to heat! When in doubt, cook chocolate in the microwave for less time than indicated on the recipe. You can always add more time!
- Have leftover ganache? Use Anytime Trays! Pour the cooled chocolate sauce into the trays and allow to set in the freezer overnight. When you’re ready to use the sauce, pop it out of the Anytime Tray and microwave in an Anyday dish in 30-second increments. Store in an air-tight container in the freezer for up to 3 months!
- Microwave ovens vary, even with the same wattages. Adjust cooking times as needed.
