To find your microwave’s wattage, look at the front panel, the side of the door, in the back, in the user manual, or Google the model number. If both an input and output wattage are listed, use the output.

Wattage translates to how powerful the microwave is. The higher the wattage, the faster your food will cook. The lower the wattage, the longer the cook time.

When in doubt, start with less time — you can always add more.

Dish

The Medium Deep Dish

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (250ml) heavy cream
  • 1 cup (150g) dark chocolate chips

Preparation

  1. Place heavy cream and chocolate chips into an Anyday Deep Dish.
  2. Cover with lid (knob lifted) and cook in the microwave for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Whisk the sauce until fully incorporated. If the chocolate chips are not quite melted, microwave for an additional 30 seconds.
  4. Use immediately, or store in an air-tight container for later use.

Suggestions

  • Make Hot Cocoa Sticks: Pour prepared ganache into 2-Tablespoon Anytime Trays. Top with crushed peppermint, mini marshmallows, chili flakes, flaky sea salt, or caramel chips, if desired. Push a popsicle stick or short pastry dowel into the center and transfer to the fridge to cool for at least 2 hours. When ready to serve, add a Hot Cocoa Stick to a mug. Pour hot milk or water over the puck and stir to melt completely. Enjoy with whipped cream!
  • For Hot Fudge Sauce: Combine 1 can (14oz) sweetened condensed milk, 1 cup (150g) dark chocolate chips, and 2 tablespoons cocoa powder in an Anyday deep dish and stir to combine. Microwave for 90 seconds, stirring until smooth.

Recipe Notes

  • Chocolate is very sensitive to heat! When in doubt, cook chocolate in the microwave for less time than indicated on the recipe. You can always add more time!
  • Have leftover ganache? Use Anytime Trays! Pour the cooled chocolate sauce into the trays and allow to set in the freezer overnight. When you’re ready to use the sauce, pop it out of the Anytime Tray and microwave in an Anyday dish in 30-second increments. Store in an air-tight container in the freezer for up to 3 months!
  • Microwave ovens vary, even with the same wattages. Adjust cooking times as needed.
