To find your microwave’s wattage, look at the front panel, the side of the door, in the back, in the user manual, or Google the model number. If both an input and output wattage are listed, use the output.

Wattage translates to how powerful the microwave is. The higher the wattage, the faster your food will cook. The lower the wattage, the longer the cook time.

When in doubt, start with less time — you can always add more.

Microwave oven by power - 700w

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon sour cream or mayo
  • Salt, to taste

Preparation

  1. Melt butter in the Anyday dish. Add the remaining ingredients and whisk until fully incorporated.
  2. Cook uncovered in the microwave in 30-second intervals for 1 minute and 15 seconds, whisking (not stirring!) each time to achieve the classic scrambled egg curds.
  3. Continue cooking for 20 seconds. On the last whisk, some egg might still be liquid, but as you whisk it will all finish cooking.
  4. Enjoy as-is or over toast.

Serving suggestions & tips

  • Add some chopped herbs for a fresh flavor.
  • Add cheese and ham or cooked sausage for a more robust scramble.
  • Add a dash of hot sauce for a spicy touch.

Recipe notes

  • You can also use an Anyday Deep Dish to cook scrambled eggs, but you might need to add a bit more cooking time since the layer of eggs will be thicker. Add time in 15-30 second intervals.
  • Microwave ovens vary, even with the same wattages. Adjust cooking times as needed.
