To find your microwave’s wattage, look at the front panel, the side of the door, in the back, in the user manual, or Google the model number. If both an input and output wattage are listed, use the output.

Wattage translates to how powerful the microwave is. The higher the wattage, the faster your food will cook. The lower the wattage, the longer the cook time.

When in doubt, start with less time — you can always add more.

Dish

The Medium Shallow Dish

Ingredients

  • 2 (4-6 oz) chilean sea bass filets, skin on
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon garlic chili sauce
  • teaspoons rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Preparation

  1. Add the soy sauce, garlic chili sauce, and rice vinegar to the Anyday dish and mix to combine.
  2. Pat dry the fish on both sides and season with salt, then place the filets skin side down in the Anyday dish. Spoon sauce over the fish, then cover with the lid (knob lifted). Cook in the microwave for 5-6 minutes or until the fish is fully cooked. (Thinner fillets will take less time and thicker fillets may take longer.)
  3. Top with sesame seeds and enjoy.

Suggestions

  • If desired, pat dry and sear the skin on a heated pan with a little bit of oil first.
  • Try this same method with a different fish such as salmon, halibut, mahi mahi or cod.
