The Medium Deep Dish

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, butter or bacon fat
  • ½ cup (60g) small diced yellow onion
  • 1 can (14oz- 395g) cooked beans, such as cannellini, kidney, or pinto 
  • ½ cup (120g) BBQ sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 1 4oz can (113g) diced green chiles

Preparation

  1. Add the oil and diced onions into an Anyday Dish and stir to combine. Cover with lid (knob lifted).
  2. Cook the onions for 1-2 minutes, or until they begin to soften.
  3. Strain and rinse the canned beans, then add them alongside the remaining ingredients into the Anyday dish with the onions and stir to combine. Cover with lid (knob lifted)
  4. Cook for 5-6 minutes, or until the beans are hot and the sauce begins to thicken. Stir the beans and sauce until they form a thick and saucy consistency.
  5. Enjoy as is or top with chopped parsley if desired.
