Ingredients
- 8 oz (225g) ground pork or lean ground beef
- ½ yellow onion, thinly sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 4 teaspoons grated fresh ginger
- 4 cups (200g) shredded cabbage or coleslaw mix
- 4 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons sriracha sauce
- 2 teaspoons rice vinegar
- 2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
- 1 scallion, chopped (optional)
Preparation
- Place the pork or beef, onions, garlic, and ginger in the Anyday dish and mix well. Cover with lid (knob lifted) and cook in the microwave for 4-5 minutes, or until the meat is partially cooked and onions begin to soften.
- Add the cabbage and mix well, making sure to break the meat into smaller pieces. Continue cooking for 4-5 minutes, or until the cabbage is just wilted but remains crunchy and the meat is cooked through.
- Season with the soy, sriracha, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Garnish with scallions, if desired.
Serving suggestions & tips
- Try it with kale or swiss chard.
- Top with bean sprouts for a crunchy topping.
- Add a poached egg for extra protein.
Recipe notes
- For a leaner dish, substitute pork with ground turkey or chicken. Try it with ground beef for a heartier dish.
- Microwave ovens vary, even with the same wattages. Adjust cooking times as needed.
